A Chainmaille Tale of Orchids & Autumn Workshop
A Chainmaille Tale of Orchids & Autumn Workshop
For this 4 hours workshop, you’ll get to learn the basics of chainmaille weaving and tsumamizaiku (つまみ細工) kanzashi flower making! And because it’s autumn now, I’ll be teaching you folks how to make the orchid – our local floral specialty and maple leaf – the symbol of cool autumn with beginner kanzashi folds!
What you’ll make:
A chainmaille and kanzashi flower keychain in orchid and maple leaf theme, combined with chainmaille in box and byzantine weaves!
What you’ll learn:
Basic techniques in chainmaille and kanzashi flower making! Participants get to learn how to make a personalized keychain with a basic chain woven out of jumprings in box weave (also known as “King’s Braid”) and byzantine weave (the “Queen’s Link”).
Beginner kanzashi floral making folds will also be taught at this workshop, where participants will get to experience making orchids and maple leaves in customized colours and materials!
The always versatile ribbon bow will also be taught as a bonus as well!
